27th National Taekwondo championship in Ongole

 27th ITF national taekowndo championship was held in Ongole from December 28-30 at Police sports community hall. 400 Taekwondo players from 12 states participated in this annual championship organised by Ongole Taekwondo Association. December 28: TAI President B.V. Ramanaiah conducted the black belt exam, referee training and general body meeting. Opening ceremony on December 29: National Taekwondo tournament was inaugurated by Ongole MLA Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and Prakasam district SP Dr. Kolli Raghurami Reddy. TAI-ITF President Master B.V. Ramanaiah and Ongole Taekwondo association General Secreatary SK. Kareemulla and SM Rafi played crucial role in conducting the event successfully. Prakasam SP Dr. K. Raghurami Reddy inaugurated the event.      Closing ceremony on December 30: Ongole MLA Balineni Srinivasa Reddy and TAI-ITF president B.V. About Taekwondo Association of India (TAI-ITF) President B.V. Ramanaiah

 This is the letter our President B.V. Ramaiah was received from his Master Leong Wai Meng (7th Dan) on March 25, 1993. One can form an association overnight and boast about their "purchased credentials" but you can not purchase honesty and reputation. Here is a man from a small village in Andhra Pradesh went on become the most famous Taekwondo personality in India. He sold his properties and worked hard in spreading awareness about Taekwondo. This innocent village man was deceived by some people and tried to sideline him. He stood firm and has been running Taekwondo nationals for last 27 years.  Highlights of the letter about B.V. Ramanaiah in 1993: 1. He started training Taekwondo over 15 years ago in India. 2. B.V. Ramanaiah has been the vice-president of the Taekwondo Association since 1985. 3. He was the national champion in sparring for India every year since 1985. 4. 15th South Zone Taekwondo (ITF) championship winners

 15th South zone Taekwondo championship was held in Ramachandrapuram (East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh) from September 28-30, 2012. Chintha Subbarao trust sponsored the event which was organised by East Godavari Taekwondo association (ITF) under the leadership of TAI-ITF President Master B.V. Ramanaiah. Indian Taekwon-do never forget Mohandas master

 Taekwon-Do was introduced in India by V.Mohandas and started coaching classes in Chennai. It gradually spread to other South-Indian states like Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. All India Taekwan-Do Federation (AITF) was formed in 1978 and AITF conducted National Championships in 1978, 79 and 1980. AITF masters travelled across India to spread awareness about Taekwondo. Indian Taekwon-Do legends:  Mohandas left India in 1983 and AITF was taken care by V. Panneerselvan and G. Balakrishna in Tamil Nadu and B.V. Ramanaiah in Andhra Pradesh. Chandrasekhar ran AITF operations in Karnataka. Mohan Das with Balakrishnan:  All India Taekwon-Do Association (AITA) was formed in 1985 and started conducting National Championships. Master Leongwaimeng played major role in the formation of AITA.  After Delhi National Championship in 1989, AITA name was changed to TAI (Taekwon-Do Association of India) which is still conducting National Championships under the leadership of Master B.V. Nostalgia: Ramanaiah master with Gen Choi Hong Hi

 This photo was taken during the inauguration of first Taekwon-do seminar at Talkatora indoor stadium in New Delhi on December 16, 1993. "Father of Taekwondo" Gen. Choi Hong Hi inaugurated the first ITF Taekwon-do seminar. I (B.V. Ramanaiah) am one of his favourite students.  Gen. Choi Hong Hi died of stomach cancer on June 15, 2002 in Pyongyang (North Korea).
